Basic Function:

Assist the Associate Director, Residential Facilities in managing facilities related functions within Residence Services. Reports to Associate Director, Residential Facilities, Residence Services or designated supervisor.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Provide leadership for the access control system, including keycard distribution, inventory and supply management, lock identity creation, approval/denial of access requests, oversight of access control programming and maintenance, confidential reports, etc.

Provide support for residence hall turnover, including cleaning, painting, moving, refuse/recycling, and entomological service needs.

Manage the ongoing update of all departmental inventories, including student room furnishings, staff offices and apartments; residence hall lounges and public areas; linen inventories, equipment inventories (i.e., bike racks, pianos, pool tables, copiers, department vehicles, etc.); provide recommendations regarding the purchase of new inventory of products and/or refinishing, repairing items.

Provide support for conference and guest service operations, including oversight of staff, management of building usage, and coordination with University Events and Conference Services.

Assist in development and implementation of department policies and procedures.

Assist in establishing departmental goals and objectives.

Manage budget for assigned functional area.

Supervise classified and student employees; may supervise temporary employees as needed.

Assist in the hiring and training of classified, unclassified, and student employees

Work with technology and development staff in the implementation of applications to improve functionality and efficiency of existing processes.

Serve on assigned department, division, and University committees.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in a Construction Management, Business Administration or related field. Three years of full-time relevant professional experience in business operations, facilities management, or student affairs, to include two years of supervisory experience. Must be able to work nontraditional hours, including evening and weekends as needed.

License/Certification:

Knowledge Of:

Working with college student populations

Project and/or construction management *

Various software/tools (e.g. MS Office Suite, etc.) to generate reports and provide data analysis for supported functions in the department *
