BASIC FUNCTION:

Assume responsibility for accepting and processing mortgage and installment loan applications.  Analyze and evaluate loan applications.  Acknowledge customer's needs with suggestions appropriate to the Associations loan products.

$52,800 - $62,820 Starting Salary

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES: *

  • Interview customers applying for mortgage and consumer loans.
  • Receive formal application for a mortgage from the customer.  Assist customers with completing technical details of the application.
  • Review completed mortgage application for accuracy and thoroughness and request additional information if necessary.
  • Assist Loan Processors in supplying customers with all necessary and appropriate disclosures.
  • Be knowledgeable on all Association Loan Programs
  • Stay current on loan rates.
  • Calculate gross monthly income for customers using pay stubs, W-2's, tax returns and financial statements.
  • Have the ability to read and decipher a tri-merge credit report.
  • Be proficient on Mortgagebot loan program.
  • Order credit reports, title insurance, flood searches and appraisals in a timely manner.
  • Process, package and submit new loans to Underwriter for review.
  • Assist Loan Closers and Loan Service personnel to obtain appropriate documentation for files.
  • Process Loan Modifications.
  • Communicate with customers on a regular basis to answer any and all questions.
  • Build and maintain business relationships within the community to attract new business.
  • Stay current of compliance regulatory issues, through ongoing training, as they pertain to duties.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and services.

* MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:*

  • Bachelors' degree in finance, accounting or business management, and 3 or more years experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registered as a MLO with the National Mortgage Licensing System. 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Prior supervisor/management experience.
  • Demonstrate understanding of mortgage processing and underwriting procedures.
  • Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Professional and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze and comprehend complex financial data and recommend appropriate financial alternatives.
  • Ability to utilize computer and related software applications.
