BE A PART OF THE CONNECTION At Spectrum, we ensure the delivery of our internet services to more than 32 million customers nationwide. As a Construction Technician, you will be responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining our Hybrid Fiber Coaxial (HFC) plant under moderate supervision. You will also be performing complex installations of cable in underground and/or overhead environments using most recent company specifications and industry standards. Your work will fuel the growth engine of Charter's expanding network. WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM Required Qualifications Experience: Construction work experience of two or more years preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent work experience Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within company required standards Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E preferred) Technical Skills: Able to operate machinery used for underground/overhead cable installation Able to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting Able to use personal computer or test equipment associated with position (e.g. signal level meters, ohm meters, etc.) Able to use handheld communication devices and applications Knowledge of traditional fiber architectures, Fiber Plant maintenance, basic mathematics and electronics, National Electrical Code and National Safety Code Abilities: Able to read, write and speak the English language Able to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers Able to safely use weight-bearing equipment (such as gaffs, safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of that equipment Able to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices Able to use weight-bearing equipment Able to carry, climb, and operate extension ladders (approx. 32 ft high and 90 pounds) Able to climb poles using gaffs, hooks and climbing belt as needed Able to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires Able to read general system layouts from blueprints Able to work in all types of terrain in all weather conditions while carrying equipment Able to perform job from high places (i.e. poles and roofs) Able to work while standing 50-70% of the time Ablet to work with small components and wires to make cable connections Ability to adhere to Local, Federal regulations and Company policies Ability to dig in all types of soil Ability to drive Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner Able to work independently Skills: Can prioritize and organize effectively, detail-oriented, strong communication skills Schedule: Hours will be determined as business needs dictate SPECTRUM CONNECTS YOU TO MORE Dynamic Growth: With opportunities to network with other people in leadership roles, you will be able to grow your talents in a supportive community Job Perks: Receive a company vehicle and work with cutting edge communications technology Competitive Pay: Generous starting salary Total Rewards: Apply now, connect a friend to this opportunity or !
