VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION OF SEMO Therapy in Kennett, Missouri

POSITION PURPOSE

Provide skilled physical therapy services to patients/clients.


INTRODUCTION: The Home Health program provides services for those needing skilled services under orders from a private physician delivered in the patient's private home. Payment is through Medicaid, Medicare and Private Pay/Insurance. Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri is a not for private organization.

TYPE OF WORK INVOLVED:

Examination, treatment and instruction to assess, prevent, correct, alleviate and limit physical disability, movement dysfunction, bodily malfunction and pain from injury, disease and any other bodily condition. The PT may administer, interpret, and evaluate physical therapy tests and measurements of bodily functions and structures; the planning, administration, evaluation and modification of treatment and instruction, including the use of physical measures, activities, and devices, for preventive and therapeutic purposes; and the provision of consultative, educational, research and other advisory services for the purpose of reducing the incidence and severity of physical disability, movement dysfunction, bodily malfunction and pain. The PT can provide educational resources and training, develop fitness or wellness programs for asymptomatic persons, or provide screening or consultative services within the scope of physical therapy practice without the prescription and direction of a physician. No physical therapist shall initiate treatment for a new injury or illness without the prescription or direction of a person licensed and registered as a physician. Frequent driving may be required.

TRAINING: Training involves a 30 day period where policies and procedures are covered. Computer training will cover the use of the hand held used to make patient visits.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Able to read, write, perform simple mathematics and follow directions
  • Must hold a current Missouri PTLicense
  • Must have reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, registered w/Family Care Reg. and not be listed on the EDL
  • Must complete an application in full and furnish at least 2 credible business references with correct addresses and telephone numbers
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50# and sit for long periods of time
  • Minimum of 1 year experience preferred
