Actalent Environmental Technician in Kendall, Florida

Job Description:

Join our dynamic team as an Environmental Technician in South Miami or Coconut Creek. In this role, you will receive training and mentorship in a variety of field responsibilities. Your primary duties will include soil management oversight, well installation oversight, soil and groundwater sampling, and the operation and maintenance of remediation systems. You will play a crucial role in supporting a range of environmental projects such as land redevelopment, electric utility, remediation, chemical/petroleum spill projects, and municipal solid waste landfill projects. Responsibilities also encompass conducting site reconnaissance surveying using GIS software and handheld devices, overseeing monitoring well installations, conducting groundwater sampling, overseeing the advancement of soil borings, collecting soil samples, conducting air monitoring, monitoring gas vapor systems, maintaining mechanical field equipment, performing construction quality assurance, preparing field notes and environmental sampling log documentation, and performing equipment calibrations while maintaining equipment calibration logs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or similar

  • Proficiency in GIS software

  • Ability to operate and maintain mechanical field equipment

  • Skill in environmental sampling and data documentation

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team

  • Strong communication skills
