Summary

The Accounting Manager responsibilities includes fiscal management and oversight of the accounting functions. This hands on position is responsible for cash controls, daily, monthly and annual accounting journal entries, reconciliations, assisting the Chief Financial Officer with the annual budget process and supervision of staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Daily management of fiscal accounting activities with staff to ensure all deadlines are met

  • Participates in, directs and approves preparation and presentation of financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, annual and adhoc basis for internal and external reporting. Ensures accuracy of reporting

  • Consults with and advises leadership regarding application of fiscal policy and practices. Makes recommendations for updates and changes in principals and tax code

  • Leads support in preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification

  • Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities

  • Oversees compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Leads and participates in all company audits

  • Prepares and oversees reports required by regulatory agencies

  • Regularly reviews financial management processes and procedures for compliance and efficiency

  • Prepares recommendations and oversees the implementation of appropriate internal controls to safeguard assets of the Foundation and affiliated companies

  • Jointly manages banking relationships and cash management treasury functions

  • Close monitoring and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Directly co-supervises accounting staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Stay continuously organized in a fast passed environment

    Education and/or Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business or 7 years’ experience as an Accounting Supervisor/Manager; a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Wage

    $85K-$115K yearly DOE
