Jefferson Academy Special Education Teacher Assistant in KAYSVILLE, Utah

A history focused charter school located in Kaysville, Utah, is now accepting applications for a Special Education Teacher Assistant for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. This position involves working in a behavior special education classroom with students with severe disabilities. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in a behavior unit or with severe students.

Jefferson Academy offers an academically challenging and content-rich history-centered curriculum that incorporates the study of American citizenship and is based on the Core Knowledge Sequence.  Jefferson Academy provides an environment in which every student has the opportunity to gain a strong foundation of knowledge in world and American history, classic literature, science, math and fine arts.

It is the desire and mission of this school to have every child be challenged, experience success and master basic skills, grow in academic ability and content knowledge, and develop an understanding and appreciation for our nation's heritage and founding principles.

Qualified applicants will have passed the PRAXIS exam, or have an associate's degree (or equivalent credits towards a bachelor's degree). Qualified applicant will work under direction of a certified teacher. Preference may be given to applicants who have previous experience teaching. Candidate must also submit for and pass a background check in accordance with Utah's Department of Public Safety requirements. Prior teaching experience is preferred. Preference may be given to candidates that have previous instruction with Core Knowledge.
