Queen's Health System Accountant - Full-Time 40 Days (MOLOKAI GENERAL HOSPITAL) in Kaunakakai, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

Molokai General Hospital is looking for a Full-Time Accountant to work in Fiscal Services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the preparation of monthly income statement and balance sheet reports. Assures completeness and accuracy of journals and general ledger. Analyzes, reconciles and maintains the trial balance, general ledger accounts and bank accounts for Molokai General Hospital (MGH) and its projects.

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists with the preparation of monthly income statement and balance sheet reports. Assures completeness and accuracy of journals and general ledger. Analyzes, reconciles and maintains the trial balance, general ledger accounts and bank accounts for Molokai General Hospital (MGH) and its projects.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Essential: Seeing, hearing, speaking, sitting, finger dexterity, lifting and carrying weight up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling weight up to 20 pounds, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object. Continuous: Seeing, hearing, speaking, sitting, finger dexterity, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object. Operates computer, printer, copier, calculator, telephone, and fax.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education/Certification and Licensure:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance; or five (5) years accounting experience.

B. Experience:

• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.

• Two (2) years accounting experience in healthcare or public accounting preferred.

• Ability to utilize computer programs, including but not limited to, the following applications: QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and Email applications.
