RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Network and Computer Systems Administrators will be responsible for m aintaining and supporting the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems. Performs systems maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery, and file maintenance to promote uptime and efficient performance. Acquires, installs, and tests system software upgrades and computer components. Configures software and resolves technical problems. Maintains documentation of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting procedures.

  QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Install, configure, and maintain an organization’s local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers. Use and maintain software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information

  • Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems.

  • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups.

  • Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access.

  • Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses.

  • Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.

  • Use and maintain software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information

  • Research the latest information technology (IT) security trends

  • Recommend network and Information System enhancements to management or senior IT staff

  • Able to maintain DoD 8570.01-M baseline qualification (IAT2) and Computing Environment (CE) certification requirements for privileged access on PMRF network devices, and Windows and Linux operating systems.

  • Active Secret security clearance

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

    Responsibilities of this position also include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending mandatory, annual training sessions

  • Providing regular status reports to management summarizing progress, challenges, metrics, and recommendations

  • Collaborating with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination

  • Attending recurring team meetings or huddles

  • Assisting in the development of new initiatives
