Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field study or equivalent years of related work experience required

Work Experiences:

  • 7+ years of experience in retail management or merchandising

  • Previous retail-specific buying, planning, visual merchandising or store operations experience required

Skills:

  • Results oriented, passionate and demonstrating a strong sense of urgency

  • Outstanding creative merchandising skills

  • Ability to build partnerships and influence across all levels of management

  • Demonstrates strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales through regionalized merchandise assortments by collaborating with key partners such as merchants, regional marketing and planning & replenishment, stores and field leaders

  • Acts as a liaison for Store Leadership and communicates in-store priorities, feedback and needs with merchants, planners and vendor representatives

  • Prepares for store visits by conducting needs analysis to determine business issues and demands

  • Supports new and update store inventory assortments

  • Plans and executes regionalized training for store management on merchandise execution processes such as flipping and setting floors, and merchandising it for varying velocities depending on store volume and size

  • Support onboarding of new District Managers, GMMs, Planners and Store Executives related to understanding merchandise, selling, product training and strategies

  • Collaborate with Store Management and Planning teams to be hands-on with on seasonal and event floor planning process

  • Observe and assess merchandise execution processes, identify areas of opportunities and recommend solutions to stores

  • Leverage merchant and vendor partnerships to conduct informal product training during store visits on product features, benefits and selling techniques

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures and safety rules

  • Responsibilities may change; team members may be required to perform other tasks as assigned

Physical Requirements & Attendance

  • 75% travel required, other 25% of time spent in Katy, TX working with Corporate teams

  • Able to work flexible hours such as evening, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties

  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior
