Andretti Indoor Karting & Games Construction Project Manager in Katy, Texas

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join the team.  

OVERVIEW 

The Construction Project Manager will plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. Most construction projects will be large ground up family entertainment facilities in various states in the US. The Construction Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results.

The critical expectation will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and within budget.  This position is based in Texas with 40-60% travel.   This position will report directly to the Department Director and have reporting responsibility to Company Directors and Ownership.

PRIMARY RESPONBSIBILITIES 

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc. to incorporate project requirements and determine the specifications of the project. Follow though construction to assure all specifications are met and within the corporate standards.

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables. 

  • Create RFP packages for General Contractors, answer all applicable RFIs, and qualify construction bids and exclusions. 

  • Hire contractors and other vendors while negotiating favorable pricing and terms.

  • Obtain and maintain all required permits and licenses.

  • Work with 3rd party and government inspectors.

  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.

  • Manage, document, and respond to all project changes, including change orders and Requests for Information (RFIs).

  • Manage project documentation including drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings.

  • Review contractor Pay Applications when submitted and provide feedback.

  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations. 

  • Follow through with multiple external vendors for timely install scheduling.

  • Manage and conduct regular project meetings with the design and construction teams to facilitate communication and solve on-site problems. 

  • Manage construction schedules and be able to adapt full FFE schedules for timely project complete and opening dates.

  • Manage the work of subcontractors, laborers, etc. when needed for smaller in-house projects. 

  • Evaluate project progress and prepare detailed reports. Conduct quality control inspections to ensure project compliance.

  • Oversee final inspections and ensure all punch list items and owner requests are completed to the owner’s satisfaction.

  • Facilitate project handover to the owner’s operations and maintenance team.

  • Prepare and finalize all project documentation, including as-built drawings, warranties, and O&M documents.

  • Conduct a project review to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement in future projects. 

  • Ensure adherence to all company, industry, and applicable government health & safety standards.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required:

  • Strong communication, negotiation, organizational and time-management skills

  • Proven experience as construction project manager

  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles

  • Ability to read and understand full construction drawings and specifications.

  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards

  • Strong knowledge of the full MS Office to include Excel and Project

  • Familiarity with construction/project management software including Bluebeam Revu, Trimble products, and Autodesk products. 

  • Eligible to work in the United States

  • Must be a minimum 18 years of age

    Preferred:

  • Candidate to be based in Orlando,

  • A team player with leadership abilities

  • 3-5 years of Project Management experience

  • Owner Representative 

  • BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field or equivalent experience

  • PMP or equivalent certification
