Legal Aid of Western Missouri Staff Attorney - General Practice in Kansas City, Missouri

Legal Aid of Western Missouri seeks a full-time general practice attorney to be housed in our new Independence, Missouri location. The attorney will be part of our Warrensburg team, which serves 13 counties in west-central Missouri. The position is litigation-centered with a case load consisting of family law, guardianships, and other substantive areas of law in which Legal Aid provides service. Some daytime travel will be required for court appearances. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

The qualified candidate must have the following:

  • Active Missouri Bar license or pending bar results
  • Self-starter who has experience independently managing a case load
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Desire and commitment to assist in the delivery of high-quality legal assistance
  • Ability to speak a second language, preferred, but not required
  • Courtroom experience preferred, but not required

Salary: $65,000 + DOE
