The role of the NUTRITION CARE ASSISTANT is to assist in the assembly and delivery of patient meals with 100% accuracy according to diet order and patient selection. Other duties will include: Collecting diet sheets and recording changes from requisition and picking up new diet orders. Customer service skills are a very important part of this position in order to properly interact with patients, patient families and other hospital staff. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * One year prior experience in a food service preferred. * Experience in a healthcare setting preferred. * Must possess reading ability in order to understand menu and temperatures, accurately assemble patient meal trays and to deliver patient meals to the proper patient room. * Must be able to speak clearly.
