Honeywell Facilities Manager - Construction Design and Execution in Kansas City, Missouri

Summary

The Construction Design and Execution Facilities Manager manages the activities of Facilities/Utilities Engineering personnel assigned to various projects or systems. Leads key, complex engineering program(s) and projects and/or strategic business process development and execution. May lead a matrix team to manage and execute one or more key weapon and/or reimbursable product/service programs. Ensures that integrated project management processes are aligned with industry best practices and are consistently applied across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

Negotiates, evaluates, determines and executes engineering and program project management activities to manage one or more significant, complex program or components.

Leads, directs, influences and exercises extensive technical knowledge and expertise to evaluate and resolve significant technical issues pertinent for key project(s) or program(s).

Leads multiple aspects of financial planning, monitoring, reporting, scheduling, network analysis, and preparation of technical/schedule information required for program/project planning.

Performs primary, first point of contact, technical, administrative, and logistical liaison role with company, Department of Energy, design agencies, laboratories, integrated contractors and other government agencies for one or more key weapons, growth, and/or business process development/execution programs

Forecasts manpower requirements, determines priority of work, and assigns resources to complete the task.

Directs Facilities/Utilities engineering, technical, drafting, and administrative staff engaged in various construction, rearrangement, or operational activities on major projects or systems.

Coordinates the presentation of formal reports to DOE officials and KCNSC management on the status, progress, and completion of major projects.

Leads teams and matrix reports to manage day-to-day program requirements. Represents senior program manager as delegated for some management responsibilities

Reviews and evaluates progress on design and construction projects, architectural and engineering capabilities, and construction subcontractor performance, performs quality assurance checks, and applies corrective action or proposes revised procedures to meet or redefine project objectives.

Recommends and coordinates changes in designs and specifications.

Develops and maintains liaison with purchasing, construction contractors, and initiating department.

May perform other duties as required.

Directly oversees contractors performing construction and interfaces with GSA Lease team performing operations and maintenance of the facility.

Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment. Takes actions necessary to ""stop"" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified.

You Must Have

7 or more years experience in engineering or related technical field, including the application of advanced engineering principles and technology related to complex technical assignments. Demonstrated experience in project leadership. Experience leading matrixed and multi-disciplinary teams and assignments.

Bachelor`s Degree in Business, Engineering or Physics or a graduate degree in an appropriate field.

Ability to routinely represent program management and company to stakeholders. PMI certification preferred. EIPM and IPDS experience preferred.
