Actalent Construction Project Manager in Kansas City, Missouri

Description:

  • This position is responsible for the management of multiple concurrent task orders (construction projects)

  • Task orders will involve various trades and subcontractors and will vary in size ($2,500 - $1,500,000) scope, and complexity.

  • This position requires close interaction with Government stakeholders, trade partners (subcontractors) to manage multiple, concurrent construction projects.

  • The ideal candidate must have a well-rounded construction history with experience and expertise in multiple construction disciplines, estimating experience, strong problem-solving skills, project management & organization skills and communication skills.

  • Construction estimation experience and construction project management experience is required.

  • Oversees multiple construction projects and their performance by providing financial management of task orders (construction projects) and managing relationships with Government stakeholders and trade partners

  • Regularly interfaces with Government representatives to provide and receive information and align on key deliverables

  • Oversees construction projects (task orders) throughout their entire life cycle to ensure on-time/budget completion

  • Maintains timely and accurate project documentation in project management software system

  • Track costs and labor on projects to manage costs

  • Recruit, develop, and manage subcontractor pool in all disciplines

  • Coordinate site logistics by collaborating with Government counterparts, superintendent, and trade partners (subcontractors)

  • Support estimate negotiations as necessary

  • Extensive understanding of and intimate familiarity with principles, methods, and techniques of construction (multiple trades/disciplines)

  • Knowledge or ability to learn the federal construction requirements, including Job Order Contracting

  • Knowledge or ability to learn construction estimating software, strategies and techniques (RSMeans®, e4Clicks® / Goridan®)

  • Ability to prepare and negotiate project proposals

  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office® Suite, ProCore® Construction Management Software, MS Project®, e4Clicks® are software products routinely used

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must have:

10 years of construction experience as a PM

Has worked on federal construction projects (at least 2 preferred). USACE QCM Preferred.

BS in construction management or similar

Experience Level:

10+ years of construction project management experience for large scale and/or government projects.
