Honeywell CAD Designer I in Kansas City, Missouri

Summary

Develops designs and layouts of mechanical or electrical equipment, parts, and assemblies and creates product definitions. Uses Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to perform job responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs technical tasks which are routine or well-prescribed, following established methods and procedures.

  • Provides design-drafting services.

  • Sets up experiments and documents results.

  • Contributes to technical designs and documentation.

  • Uses CAD models to calculate dimensions and tolerances to assure fit and function.

  • Recommends new ideas and concepts.

  • Encouraged to modify design as necessary with direct supervision approval.

  • Quality of task completion may impact project outcome.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment.

  • Takes actions necessary to stop work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified.

You Must Have

  • 0-2 years of experience in design drafting or equivalent experience using CAD computer systems.

  • Must have High School diploma

  • Ability to work hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business

  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job

  • United States Citizenship

  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

We Value

  • Prefer to have a bachelors degree in a related field.

  • Entry level knowledge of computer-aided design tools normally acquired through technical training and/or a BST or BS degree in appropriate field or equivalent training and experience.

  • Ability to work without supervision and provide technical and project guidance, leadership, consultative services and innovative solutions.

  • Ability to perform component research and recommend design alternatives and to independently accomplish tasks that may be sequenced with the work of others.
