Job Responsibilities:

Trace Systems is actively recruiting for a cleared Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Engineer to support the Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-Net). ONE-Net provides equivalent secure end-to-end IT services to nearly 30,000 hardware devices and 45,000+ users across 82 locations within three OCONUS regions based out of Yokosuka, Japan; Manama, Bahrain; and Naples, Italy.

As a CMDB Engineer working within the Change Management Office, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to support effective change management processes. You will collaborate closely with change management teams and other stakeholders to maintain an up-to-date and reliable CMDB that enables efficient and risk-aware change execution.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support the Process Owner and Process Manager in order to develop asset control processes to monitor accountability identification, maintenance, location and contracts.

  • Work with USN commands to manage and document processes in support of asset reconciliation and asset disposal agreements.

  • Support the definition and documentation of Configuration Items (CI).

  • Maintain the configuration data architecture including Product Categorization, Attributes, and CI Relationships.

  • Support the operation and improvement of USN custom Remedy applications

  • Support the Process Owner and Process Manager in the establishment of the configuration data architecture

  • Integrate the CMDB with the Change Management system to provide accurate and timely information on configuration items (CIs) affected by proposed changes.

  • Develop and maintain automated processes for updating CMDB records based on approved changes and their impact assessments.

  • Participate in CAB meetings to provide CMDB-related insights and recommendations on proposed changes, including their potential impact on IT services and infrastructure.

  • Document CMDB procedures, guidelines, and best practices for change management stakeholders, ensuring alignment with ITIL principles and organizational standards.

  • Provide training and guidance to change management teams on CMDB usage, and data entry standards.

  • Analyze CMDB trends and patterns to identify opportunities for improvement in change management processes and CMDB data management.

  • Configure and maintain the integration between the CMDB and MECM to ensure synchronization of endpoint data, software deployments, and compliance information.

  • Develop automation scripts or workflows to facilitate data exchange and reconciliation between CMDB and MECM.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • DoD 8750 certification at IAT level II, Security+ CE or CCNA Security

  • Expert-level experience with BMC Remedy platform, including Atrium (CMDB).

  • Experience with BMC Remedy process and reporting modules/capabilities.

  • Position requires an active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance

  • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level III or Information Assurance System Architecture and Engineering (IASAE) II preferred.

  • ITIL v4 certification is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelors of Science and 4 years of prior relevant experience
