BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SOCIETY Construction Labor in KANAB, Utah

Location: Kanab, Utah

Hiring Range: This position's hiring range is anticipated to be $20.00 to $22.00 hourly, depending on experience, plus great benefits!

Interviews will occur weekly until the position is filled.

Summary:

Performs a variety of skilled labor constructing new buildings as well as remodeling projects, including foundation work, cement work, specialty floor coverings, (epoxy) wood and metal framing, painting, exterior siding, stucco, roofing, plumbing, drywall, metal and aluminum fabricating.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of interior and exterior remodeling projects, rough & finish carpentry. Performs varied interior and exterior painting projects. Performs various drywall procedures and repairs. Including texture, tape and mud. Erects wood and metal structures including roofing work. Performs concrete pours and concrete finishing work. Operates services, cleans, and cares for tools and equipment. Performs activities that include welding, fabricating. Shoveling, raking, tamping etc. Maintain a safe workplace valuing and modeling safe work practices adhering to organizational safety practices and rules and communicating about unsafe practices. Performs a variety of physical labor as assigned. Occasional overnight travel is required. This role typically operates during regular business hours from Monday to Friday, starting at 7 AM and ending at 4 PM. However, there are variations in the schedule based on seasonal changes. For example, during spring and summer, the schedule may shift to a four-day work week starting at 6 AM and ending at 5 PM. Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

Must have proven carpentry skills and experience; 2 years minimum required. Ability to fabricate custom steel and aluminum projects. Work with a positive outlook, upbeat, flexible, energetic, and taking initiative. Advanced knowledge of methods, tools, equipment, materials, and practices used in carpentry and construction. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, and diagrams. Ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment, hand and portable power tools, vehicles and mobile construction equipment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions; read and interpret equipment operations manuals; maintain records; make basic arithmetical calculations.

Physical Requirements:

Work indoors and outdoors with the ability to perform physical work requiring coordination, agility, strength, and stamina. Work includes heavy lifting (typically up to 100 pounds). Prolonged periods of standing; stooping, reaching, crawling, and climbing; manual dexterity. Work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
