[Maui Oil Company Inc.s Accounting Department is seeking a team member who would like to be part of a fast-paced working environment with a family culture. This position will join a team of 6-7 team members who will work collaboratively with one another. While 2 years of AP, AR and/or billing experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates the skills and abilities listed below.

**[Position Summary: [The primary function of the Accounting Associate is to perform the day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting and administrative duties such as responding to customer inquiries, assisting with inventory reconciliation and month end closing and billing duties as assigned.

  • Computer - General knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems including Microsoft Office (word, excel, Outlook) and the ability to operate the Internet and web-based applications. Previous experience working with enterprise management or accounting software is preferred.
  • General Skills - Attention to detail, accurate, thorough, ability to multi-task, ability to learn new tasks and skills, flexibility, time management, strong problem solving, organizational, and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Customer Service - General product knowledge or ability to learn Company products, teach and work with customers and vendors, active listening skills, adaptability, ability to make decisions based on authority level, dependable, patient, empathy and being able to move into the customers shoes, ability to work with all individuals of differing backgrounds and styles, general conflict resolution skills to assist with Customer Accounting issues.
  • Ethical Conduct - ability to maintain confidentiality, strong work ethic and morale character is required.
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required . 2 years of AP, AR or billing experience is preferred. General knowledge of basic accounting principles is required.
