Position Summary

Over the last 5 years, the 800 employees of our Nestlé Research organization have published around 1000 scientific publications in peer reviewed journals and filed about 80 patents every year. Our team is currently looking for an R&D trainee in Nutrition & Health. In this role you will propose, define and lead project activities related to the exploration of nutritional and health potential of ingredients and products. In collaboration with internal and external partners, your role would be to translate business needs into research approaches, transferring scientific findings to business applications. A day in the life of...

  • Develop and execute research activities in projects related to nutrition and health potential of ingredients and products.

  • Propose and support research projects to address key research questions of relevance for business applications.

  • Manage relationships with a network of internal and external partners (scientists and clinical investigators).

  • Provide scientific support to colleagues in business units (scientific, medical and regulatory affairs, safety, innovation and marketing teams).

  • Contribute towards transfer of scientific knowledge and learnings into business relevant applications.

  • Contribute to the development of scientific publications.

  • Effective dissemination of scientific outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.

What will make you successful

  • Master’s degree in Nutrition Science, Food Science, Biological Sciences or related field. Recent Ph.D. Graduates are welcome.

  • Having a strong interest in research and development, coupled with prior experience in conducting nutrition and/or food science research, will be highly advantageous.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.

  • Publication history in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English.

Show us your excellent communication skills and capacity to convey complex scientific topics to non-scientific audiences. Your ability to work in teams and collaborate while being autonomous and a self-starter would be key.
