Position Summary

Our team is currently looking for a R&D Specialist in Childhood Nutrition and Physiology. In this role you will propose, define and lead project activities related to nutrition for children and adolescents. In collaboration with internal and external partners, your role would be to translate business needs into scientific research, and transfer findings into business applications. Main responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and implement research activities related to nutrition, physiology and metabolism in children

  • Collaborate with a network of internal partners (R&D, regulatory affairs, safety, innovation and marketing) and deliver scientific research with high translation potential for product applications

  • Promote research proposals to key stakeholders with scientific authority that align with consumer and business needs

  • Translate scientific findings into consumer-friendly concepts to ensure impactful innovations

  • Manage scientific collaborations with external partners to ensure scientific findings are delivered according to expectations and of high standard

  • Contribute to scientific publications, communications and patents and disseminate scientific findings to internal and external stakeholders

  • Supervise students and R&D trainees and support them with their research activities

Required profile

  • PhD in Nutrition Science, Human Physiology, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry or related field, and minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience preferably in FMCG industry

  • Having a strong interest in research and development for industry, prior research experience in food digestion and digestive physiology is an advantage

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions

  • Ability to communicate with impact, capacity to convey complex scientific topics to non-scientific audiences

  • Agile mindset, coupled with autonomy and strong collaborative spirit

  • Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals

  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English
