Primary Duty Service Delivery Specialists (SDSs) primary duties are to focus on the efficient and accurate completion of work required to ensure customer service once the sale has been made. Provide support to sales staff, engineering, and field services as required. Interact with ACS customers to determine and recommend devices and services that meet the customer needs.

Job Functions SDS V (Circuit Design Engineer 2)

  • Assign Circuit or Centrex products.
  • Plan and schedule work, communicate effectively, and maintain effective working relationship with supervisors and customers.
  • Recommend, create and maintain all documentation as it relates to configuration, mapping, processes, service/circuit records, and asset inventories including topologies, administration manuals, standard operating procedures, support contacts, policies, procedures and training plans.
  • Maintain and report accurate documentation on relevant hardware and software life cycle.
  • Update asset management records, including maintenance of component asset inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Provide regular maintenance and refresh activities necessary to fulfill customer service requests.
  • Work with cross functional teams throughout the company to ensure seamless transitions of our products and services to the end customer.
  • Qualify new equipment for use in the network and provide operational training on such equipment to the operational teams within the company.
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians for telecommunications facilities construction, turn-up, test and maintenance.
  • Assist in Engineering Design and respond to RFPs or Quote requests.
  • Pre and Post Sales Support to Sales, Marketing, and Operations to include working with customers to identify service requirements and optimum network solutions; prepare competitive proposals in response to customer solicitations.
  • Maintain and track vendor relationships for training certifications, maintenance, and product support.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring, analysis, trending and reporting of current utilization levels and estimate future requirements using trends and thresholds for planning upgrades and enhancements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering or other technical degree.
    • Bachelor's Degree can be replaced by relevant experience on a year for year basis. Degree can be substituted with two years of telecommunications experience in a technical role within the telecommunication industry.
  • Experience using personal computers and associated software applications including Word Processing, Spreadsheets, databases, Presentation programs, Drawing/Design programs, etc.

Certifications and Licenses Required

  • Some levels may require you to possess and maintain an Alaska Driver's License.

Additional Job Requirements

  • External applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment suitability assessment and drug test.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment Data Entry test with 5500 keystrokes per hour with 10% or less error rate or type 33 words per minute.
