Job Title - Order Engineer:

Job Summary:

As an Order Engineer for Pressure Management MEA, you will review the customer purchase order from Sales or LBP teams and transform them into accurate Bills of materials (BOM). The Order Engineer configures and details orders in an accurate and timely manner to release work orders to MEA manufacturing sites. They analyze orders and identify any errors preventing order progression and communicates errors or discrepancies and take actions priorly to find a solution. The candidate must understand Bills of Materials and configure the product necessary to communicate customer requirements to MEA sourced manufacturing sites. They are responsible and accountable for the effective execution of Emerson valves orders within the functions of their responsibility!

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Perform Detailing activities necessary to communicate an accurate Bill of materials to Manufacturing.

  • Review customer orders technically:

  • Ensure all customer orders are accompanied by required specification/sizing sheets, data sheets and other supporting documents as applicable.

  • Verify product services required in the customer order (tests, certificates, COO, VDRL etc.) are available and applicable to the products selected.

  • Identify special instructions in the order and/or attachments and ensure they are properly captured and addressed in the customer order.

  • Review customer orders from commercial perspective by validating pricing/commission for standard/special constructions/products services per internal guidelines.

  • Connect with internal sales team, LBPs, Global Industry Sales, R&D Engineering, Project management to ensure proper form, fit and function for the bill of materials provided.

  • Verifies the completeness and correctness of product structure against the technical specs and ensure that the selected product is suitable for the service.

  • Supervise the progress of orders and raise issues to ensure timely release of items to manufacturing.

  • Provide a high level of ownership of completed work through the production process, includes items in manufacturing, assembly and Bill of Materials related questions.

  • Support the order engineers in preparing Bills of Materials for special valve construction and initiate request to R&D Engineering team for new drawings as and when required.

  • Support change order owner in resolving change order charges and delivery impact

  • Works with Sales team, operations team, and other internal functions on the customer requirements and resolve issues

  • Provides timely response to order enquiries and act as a point of escalation when vital.

  • Responsible for the providing the monthly reports addressing Unclean orders, New Design requests, new part number creations with Customer specific processing, change order reports, Right First-Time issue reports.

  • Participates and adopts in continuous process improvements focused on systems and reporting.

  • Create codification logic of special construction Finished Goods (FG) and standardize the process.

  • Connect with strategic sourcing team to price special components to maintain unit price of the newly created items and finished goods.

  • Attach additional specs documents (Parts drawing, engineering specs, etc.) of the newly created items as adequate.

  • Apply and understand global configuration tools of PRM products groups (Regs & PRVs).

Who you are?

  • Knowledge in SAP, Oracle Business system, Microsoft or any other ERP system is required.

  • Mechanical / Technical drawing interpretations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

For this Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

  • Order Engineering experience in an Engineered to Order environment requiring generation of BOM’s.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • 2-3 Years experience in pressure relief valves and Industrial regulators as an Application Engineer or in a Manufacturing environment

  • Order Engineering experience in Pressure Relief Valves, Regulators and/or control valves.
