VF Corporation Coach, Operations in Jonestown, Pennsylvania

Coach, Operations (Weekend Shift)

Schedule: Friday - Sunday ; 5AM - 5:30PM

Pay: $21.50/hr + 6.25% Shift Differential ($22.84/hr)

What you will do:

Responsible for a variety of functions within the distribution center. Train and oversee a small team of distribution center employees.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Under the general direction of the shift supervisor, this person will be an active coach for employees.

  • The Distribution coach will assist the supervisor in the execution of facility operations to meet production within their department to reach operational goals.

  • The coach will act as an employee advocate and mentor during our peak seasons.

  • Work under the direction of the Area Supervisor

  • Serve as an advocate and direct point of contact for contingent and/or seasonal employees

  • Lead, communicate, coach, and motivate individuals and the team to meet and/or exceed day-to-day quality, efficiency, and organization objectives

  • Effectively communicate information to associates in the absence of the Supervisor or coach.

  • Monitor flow of work in assigned areas

  • Escalate immediate needs to appropriate partners (leadership, HR, Safety & Maintenance)

  • Lead daily activities to meet productivity, accuracy, and service goals by appropriately staffing, prioritizing work, assigning tasks, and scheduling personnel.

  • Mentor and develop teammates to perform better in their current roles while preparing them for future career opportunities

  • Provide safety and performance coaching's when necessary

  • Understand and act as a role model in following all standard operating procedures

  • Follows all company safety, attendance, and security procedures

  • Maintain a clean/safe work environment

  • Ensure full compliance with VF policies and procedures

Skills for Success

  • Minimum of two years related to production, warehouse and/or distribution center environment.

  • Past leadership experience directing workflow and/or leading a group of employees .

  • Ability to interact well with all levels of employees.

  • Detailed oriented, organized, and effective at time management.

  • Must be able to lead and train a high-performance team and achieve results and team goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direction.

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills in English

  • Computer knowledge and experience using RF scanners.

  • Must have the ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work overtime and on opposing shifts as assigned; may be called on off hours.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English

_What we expect you already know: _

High school diploma or equivalent education; Associate's degree preferred. 2-3 yrs of progressive experience. Proficient PC Skills

  • Stand and/or walk during shift between 8 to 12 hours 

  • Lift, push, pull and move boxes up to 50 pounds

  • Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands, wrists and feet coordination operation of Order Picker style Powered Industrial Truck 

  • Noise level varies and can be loud

$18.80 USD - $23.50 USD per hour
