Essential Job Functions (Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities Most Important for the Job)

  • Load/unload trailers, sort, and stack cases on pallets

  • Shrink wraps pallet.

  • Work quickly and accurately in a production environment.

  • Keep the work area clean and neat.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements (Minimum Competencies Required for Job Performance)

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one with co-workers and supervisor.

  • Ability to accurately count. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide simple whole numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of measure regarding numbers, weight, and volume.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Ability to resolve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to ask for help when a solution is unknown or questionable.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, follow the command prompts on the screen and use a keyboard/mouse to enter basic information.

  • Required to stand throughout the entire shift.

  • Use hands to handle, move and feel cases/cartons/boxes.

  • Reach with hands and arms to move cases/cartons/ boxes.

  • Able to bend, stoop, or kneel as needed throughout the shift.

  • Without strain, must regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds.

  • Able to adjust focus to read small font accurately on scanner/label/computer screen within 20 inches or less.
