  • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education

  • Must be registry eligible (acceptance letter received and present to supervisor) According to the criteria published by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).

  • Experience

  • Must meet requirements of ARDMS or CCI to obtain registry eligible status, usually 2 years experience or a graduate from an accredited school of technology.

  • Physical

  • Normal Work environment. Close visual acuity to distinguish color changes and ability to see in dark environment. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Exposure to mechanical hazards. Operates ultrasound equipment, computer, treadmills, telephone, oxygen, wheelchairs, IV poles, and blood pressure equipment. Frequent standing, walking, bending and stooping. Lifting, carrying up to 20 lbs. Pushing or Pulling up to 200 lbs.

  • JOB SUMMARY

  • Under the direction of a physician trained in ultrasound and the department manager, performs cardiac and peripheral vascular ultrasound procedures that will require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
