To implement facility housekeeping procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents\' needs in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

1. Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.

2. Attend departmental and staff in-service educational; classes, on-the-job training programs, etc. as scheduled.

3. Follow housekeeping procedures in accordance to all applicable state and federal laws and facility policies.

4. Assure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures.

5. Tasks Assigned to this position involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood/body fluids. Precautions should always be utilized.

6. Operate housekeeping equipment safely.

7. Follow all facility safety procedures and polices.

8. Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to supervisor immediately.

9. Report any observed area in poor repair to the supervisor.

10. Use housekeeping supplies efficiently and properly.

11. Properly use and care for housekeeping equipment.

12. Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liner.

13. Discard infectious waste into appropriate containers.

14. Identify and report garments or linens in ill repair to supervisor.

15. Follow Resident\'s Rights polices at all times.

16. Must remain familiar with Chemical Hazard Communication Program and Safety Data Sheets.

17. Must Be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people with in the facility.
