U.S. Army Reserve Command Logistics Management Specialist in Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey

Summary Extended closing date to 3 May. This is military technician located at: 99th Readiness Division, Supply Division, Directorate of Logistics, Fort Dix, NJ. Description of the working environment: Work is performed in an office setting. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Responsibilities Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in an Army Reserve Brigade or equivalent sized unit. Provide coordinated logistical guidance and policies to subordinate units regarding logistical operations. Utilize current logistical systems to allocate and monitor funding requirements for logistical operations. Advise on logistics status and logistical support to achieve and maintain effective operational readiness status. Analyze maintenance policies and regulatory requirements to increase level of unit readiness. Maintain liaison with higher headquarters, U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC) staff, and other Army Reserve (AR) Commands to ensure effective logistical support. Specialized experience is defined as: experience in unit-level logistics functions and logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, implementing or evaluating logistical actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service, GS-09. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes Information Oral Communication Technical Competence Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below: 1) Qualifying based on education alone: Education may be substituted for specialized experience with a Ph.D. (or equivalent graduate degree), 3 full years (54 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M (if related). 2) Qualifying based on a combination of education and specialized experience: A combination of education and specialized experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 2 years (36 semester hours) by 18. Add the 2 percentages. Note: For the purpose of qualifications, 1 full year of graduate education is equivalent to 18 semester hours. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
