The Opportunity

This opportunity as an Alarm Monitor at JBLM, Washington, is great for an individual who is passionate about safety. The Alarm Monitor monitors the ICIDS IV system to ensure any deviations are reported to the proper contact and the proper protocol for the monitoring center is followed.  They also communicate with the customer and other appropriate parties to provide great service. 

Starting pay is $35.85 per hour. 

Must be able to work a variety of days and shifts.**

Shifts are 6 am to 2 pm; 2 pm to 10 pm; and 10 pm to 6 am

 

The Responsibilities

  • Ensures contract compliance pertaining to alarm monitoring using the ICIDS IV system or other assigned system and relays information to appropriate internal and external customers

  • Identifies and reports any deviations of established security requirements

  • Relays all updates relating to shift communications, including open or pending on-call technician service calls, to internal and external customers as appropriate

  • Communicates alarm information to MP dispatch center

  • Operates communication equipment to receive incoming calls for assistance

  • Maintains the general security posture of the facility entry and exit locations

  • Tests communications, alarm equipment, and backup systems to ensure serviceability

     The Necessities

  •   Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to pass a background check for DoD security clearances, pre-employment and continuing random background checks, and drug and MVR screenings.

    Great to Have

  • Prior experience working on government contracts or military bases

  • 1+ year of security experience including local, state or Federal law enforcement

  • Knowledge of ICIDS IV or similar systems or a willingness to train on applicable systems

  • Experience using and troubleshooting communication equipment, including but not limited to test communications, alarm equipment and backup systems to ensure serviceability

  • Active security clearance
