Hamilton-Fulton-Montgomery BOCES Math or Computer Science Teacher in Johnstown, New York

P-TECH Early College High School is accepting applications for a full-time 10-month Math teaching position with some days over the summer. This is a full-time tenure-track position.

We are looking for teachers who:

  • Have a complete understanding of and commitment to the “teacher as facilitator/coach” model.

  • Understand project-based learning and interdisciplinary instruction.

  • Embrace digital learning.

  • Are inquiry based, real world based, and performance based.

  • Want to stimulate innovation.

  • Are committed to a workplace culture that encourages innovation.

  • Believe the power of learning resides in the student.

  • Are committed to the belief that all students, especially those who are “at-risk” can succeed.

  • Ability to teach College in the High School math course (at least 20 college math credits with full calculus sequences preferred)

  • Get excited about the possibility of vertical alignment between college and high school math content

  • Desire to incorporate math into real-world, interdisciplinary projects (extensive training provided)

Job Qualifications

NYS Mathematics (7-12) certification.

or

NYS dual certification in Math (7-12) and Physics

or

NYS dual certification in Math (7-12) and Computer Science.

Experience with project-based learning is highly desirable.
