Why become a CNA?

Becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant with WesleyLife is an exciting way to enter healthcare. The CNA profession is fundamental to ensuring those served receive the highest level of care during every shift. Plus, it's a well-paying career that you can start in as little as 3-4 weeks with a CNA program! As a CNA, you would have the opportunity to work with individuals in a Long Term Care, Home Health, or Hospice setting, providing care and support on a daily basis. In some organizations such as WesleyLife, the CNA career path is robust! There are many opportunities, including team lead, a Mentor, a Medication Aide, or pursue your clinical education further in becoming a nurse.

What can you expect from our CNA program?

  • 80-hour course over the span of three weeks. Monday, June 10th to Friday, June 28th.

  • Interactive classroom-style setting onsite at Wesley on Grand Community, near downtown Des Moines

  • Exposure to our Person-Directed Living philosophy through onsite clinicals at one of our Communities for Healthy Living

  • Unique, customized learning materials highlighting not only Nursing Assistant competencies, but customer experiences and hospitality as well

  • Training lead by our Clinical Educator with over 20 years of clinical experience in Long Term Care and Skilled Nursing

  • Cost for tuition and all materials for the program is $700.00 for all non-team members

  • If you are currently employed or have an offer of employment as a CNA as of the date on which you begin the program, you are not responsible for tuition. Your employer is responsible for the cost of the program. Please let WesleyLife know if this applies to you.

Compensation:

  • The set pay rate while enrolled in our CNA course is $14.25 / hour if you are a team member of WesleyLife. Pay will then increase once hired as a CNA with WesleyLife.

  • Shift Differentials for 2nd, 3rd and weekend shifts as a CNA
