Avangrid Service Company Technical Trainer in Johnson City, New York

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $92,185 - $ 115,232.

GAS TECHNICAL TRAINER

Responsible for administration and delivery of programs directly related to all areas of the Gas line of business. In conjunction with the business and technical training, determines training and orientation needs for new employees conducting work on AVANGRID gas facilities. Develops and conducts additional advanced training for incumbent operations staff.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

  • Identifies, develops, implements and conducts advanced training for applicable incumbents that will address the future needs of the corporation.
  • Provides consultation and support to applicable department/employees by analyzing training needs and developing programs and reports that will assist with problem-solving.
  • Administers progression training programs for new hires and monitors competency.
  • Researches new methods, technology, tools and equipment that will result in competitive product costs.
  • Serve as subject matter expert responsible for ensuring accuracy of programs.
  • Manage the problem identification and resolution process regarding union issues and monitor progress toward resolution.
  • Works on assignments dealing with the routine and daily operation, use, and configuration of the LMS.
  • Identifies and communicates opportunities for process and quality improvements, providing feedback on usage, defects, and suggested enhancements.
  • Safely and proficiently work in a team setting maintaining an emphasis on learner engagement and the establishment/maintenance of maintaining a competent workforce.

Skills and Requirements
  • Minimum of two years relevant experience required
  • Extensive knowledge of Gas Operations O&M and Standards, Operator Qualifications, and other related industry regulations
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Experience working in a learning management system preferred.
