NCCPA Information Security Specialist II in Johns Creek, Georgia

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States for NCCPA as NCCPA will not sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas. Information Security Specialist II  Location:  NCCPA is a hybrid work environment with our headquarters located in Johns Creek, Georgia. NCCPA has determined that the telecommuting status of this position is remote which means that employees in remote positions are allowed to primarily work remotely with required travel for mandatory meetings, including to the NCCPA headquarters.  

  This position will need to be in the commutable distance of within the state of Georgia and within 85 miles of ground travel, one-way between an employee’s primary residence and the NCCPA headquarters in Johns Creek, Georgia

Why Us, Why Now?

As the Information Security Specialist  II , you will be an essential member of the Infrastructure and Security team, and responsible  for researching emerging threats and safeguards that can provide protection. You will  also be responsible for risk assessment to support the NCCPA security and compliance posture.

How Will You Make a Difference? You will…

  • Monitor and maintain security controls on corporate systems and applications through various security tools. 

  • Monitor tickets, manage resolutions, and prioritize security issues. 

  • Develop, maintain, and contribute to policies, procedures, plans, quick tips, and other system documentation. 

  • Assist in researching, analyzing, designing, testing, and implementing new security applications and tools. 

  • Develop, maintain, and contribute to policies, procedures, plans, quick tips, and other system documentation. 

  • Support and maintain systems and applications, both on-premise and cloud-based.  

  • Participate in on-call rotations. 

    Hard Skills You Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent. 

  • Five or more years of overall security experience.  

  • Three or more years of hands-on experience in technical information security.  

  • Knowledge of common security technologies and tools gained through experience including Next-Gen firewalls, SIEM, vulnerability management, web and email security, WAF, NAC, EDR/XDR, IPS/IDS, CASB, DLP, and security awareness. 

  • Knowledge and experience of operational information security processes including alert monitoring, threat detection, incident response, system, and architecture hardening. 

  • Knowledge and understanding of Azure security features. 

  • Experience reviewing raw log files, correlating data, and analyzing logs from different sources. 

  • Understanding of security risks associated with software, hardware, and cloud-based resources. 

  • Understanding of authentication technologies and protocols such as MFA, SSO, SAML, OAuth, and FIDO.  

  • Understanding of security frameworks, compliance, and standards such as NIST, CIS, SOC2, GDPR, and PCI. 

  • Functional understanding of DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP, Ethernet, and other networking technologies and concepts. 

  • Proficiency with Active Directory, Azure AD (Entra ID), Group Policy management and development. 

  • Proficiency with Windows Server administration and understanding of windows event management. 

  • Knowledge of scripting, such as Powershell, SQL, and KQL. 

  • Experience working in ITSM systems to manage daily workloads.

  • Your attention to detail and follow-through along with managing competing priorities within agreed upon timeframes.

    Extra Skills You Can Bring Along

  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) and/or other certifications in the cyber security field are highly desire

  • Security product related certifications. 

    Compensation Range : $72,970.00 - $81,761.00
