A Network Engineer is a seasoned technical professional responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimising NTT's network infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure communication. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support networking needs. This role plays a critical role in ensuring network reliability, performance, and security.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitors, investigates and reports on information security incidents, Internet use and ICT policy breaches.

  • Administers all security solutions in the Information Security domain including, but not limited to, firewalls, IPS's, VPNs, Mail Gateways, Proxy solutions, Anti-Virus and other end point solutions, Network Access Control solutions, DNS clusters, Cloud security, mail and domain protection mechanisms such as DMARC, SPF, DKIM, PKI and Certificate Management

  • Perform proactive vulnerability assessments and assist with managed Security Operations Centre tasks

  • Proactively conducts analyses and investigation of alleged breaches of Internet use by staff and students. As necessary, compiles reports and recommendations for management.

  • Researches, plans and implements information security technical solutions to meet business requirements.

  • Develops, implements and administers information security programs, including education and awareness, information security management reviews and audits.

  • Develops, reviews and maintains information security policies and procedures.

  • Assists with monitoring, measuring and reporting on the critical success factors of the University's information security framework.

  • Maintains auditable records and necessary documentation for services and processes undertaken within the Information Security team function.

  • Assists with information classification and information risk analysis, assessment and acceptance processes.

  • Maintains awareness of the implication of legislation or other internal and external regulations associated with the effective management of information security.

  • Provides consultative and authoritative advice on issues relating to information security, including policy and procedure, education and awareness, industry standards, legislative or regulatory requirements (e.g. copyright and censorship provisions), business contingency and recovery planning, and on the activities of the Information Security function itself.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Relevant Degree

  • Cisco CCNP Security, basic networking and routing skills

  • Essential - minimum 2 years working experience within cybersecurity domain with emphasis on enterprise firewalls, IPS, DNS, Mail gateways, Network

  • Access Control, endpoint security solutions, PKI, Security Operations Centre tasks and vulnerability assessments.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving and investigative skills
