Vontier Billing Specialist in Johannesburg, South Africa

JOB TITLE: Billing Specialist

DEPARTMENT : Centre Of Excellence

REPORTING TO: Billing and Warehouse Manager

ADDITIONAL INFO:

  • Located in Bedfordview, although mobile within the region.

  • Overtime might be required, especially during month ends or financial year end.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To deliver excellent performance within the billing team:

  • Ensure timeous and accurate processing ofcustomer billing

  • Maintain customer credit limits for a portfolio of customers

  • Support the business, resolve open issues, and maintain controls

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a varied role in a fast-moving global organisation. Responsibilities and priorities are likely to evolve, but the following are key to the role:

Data capture and billing

  • Preparation of Quotations for customers

  • Daily processing of job cards and raising invoices in accordance with customer SLA and pricing agreements

  • Clearing open job cards/outstanding orders daily and weekly to ensure timely invoicing to customers

  • Processing of SAP invoices

  • Printing and distributing of customer invoices (including submission onto various customer systems)

  • Constantly learning individual customer SLAs and pricing schedules to ensure accurate billing

  • Control and minimization of credit notes and billing errors

Collection of accounts receivable within the credit terms

  • Application of credit management policies and trigger matrix escalations

Customer Contact

  • Regularly meeting key customers and build relationships to ensure the invoices are processed and paid in a timely manner

  • Resolving customer queries in a timely and professional manner

Other

  • Ensure that filing and record keeping is up to date

  • Drive continuous process improvement

  • Assist in other billing/warehouse work as requested

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education/achievements

  • Matric with Maths and Accounting. Post Matric qualification in accountig

Experience/Knowledge

  • Minimum 3 years’ billing or similar experience

  • Experience working in a retail environment

Specific Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Driven, motivated and result orientated

  • Excellent organisation and time management

Potential Skills

  • Desire to learn and develop
