Carmeuse Americas Field Support Engineer Europe in Jihomoravský kraj, Czech Republic
As the Field Support Engineer, you manage technical supports to our customer on site and in labs. You manage development operations for our customers as requested all over Europe inside Carmeuse. You are responsible for maintaining facilities to be able to operate on the field or laboratory testing and technical assistance.
The Field support Engineer will have the mission to pride technical support to our sales teams and customers in all major markets of Carmeuse: use of lime in Steel industry, in Agriculture industry (crops and animal welfare), in Environmental (water, sludge and flue gas treatment), in Construction (Civil engineering and building material), in Chemical / non-ferrous industry. The main geographical scope will be his/her “home Area”, it may happen he or she will travel to support other areas.
Your Responsibilities
You provide technical support to Carmeuse’s customers and to our internal customers (sales teams/project teams)
Understand customer processes, technical needs, requirements, usage of Carmeuse products
Manage laboratory / pilot / industrial testing in Carmeuse site or at customer site, in various market applications in autonomy (including trial organization, follow up, collection of data, interpretation of data, report writing and sharing …)
Is in contact with internal and external laboratories / institutes / universities for special analysis, tests or technical studies
Able to solve technical issues at customer (issue with product use)
Run audit of customer process (related to Carmeuse product) in the purpose to identify optimization opportunity or advise customer to increase performances of our product
Support the quality departments to resolve claims
Able to work on multiple markets / applications (water / gas treatment, chemistry, glass industry, steel manufacturing, …) , mainly water and gas treatment and chemistry.
Support Innovation project with field trials
Support the launch of new products in the market with field trials
Report customer feedback / experience internally.
You apply and enforce Safety
Guarantee the execution and application of safety procedures inside Carmeuse and at customer (risk analysis during trial preparation at any scale: lab – pilot – industrial, …)
Continuously question and optimize safety procedures for all our operations / procedures (existing one and new ones)
Actively participate to safety initiatives on the department (safety talks, …).
You work on continuous development
Continuously develop knowledge on
Lime product applications through technical paper reading, conferences, trainings, exchange with experts inside or outside the company …
Lime product features, handling technologies and process.
Your Profile
Basic requirements:
Engineer level (or equivalent professional experience) in chemistry or material science or process
5 years of experience in relevant field (process, engineering, R&D, quality , ..)
Ability to install and operate mobile pilot units (i.e. storage silo + dosing system)
Fluent in English + French (Dutch is a plus)
Open to travel in Europe (30 to 50 % )
Driving license.
Needed knowledges:
Knowledge in application (Envi, construction, Steel, Agriculture, Chemistry)
Knowledge of lime products or similar is a plus.
