Abbott Manager-Business HR in Jhagadia, India

Primary Function/Primary Goals/Objectives:

Provide support in hiring a right talent and ensuring rightful deployment of resources. Lead the engagement plan at site and contribute in making Jhagadia site as a Best place to work. Responsible for employee life cycle management.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support in Talent Management for the business by active involvement in talent identification, deployment and succession planning exercises for the division

  • Support on Implement of all key HR processes such as Performance Management, Employee compensation increments, Promotions, Talent Reviews, for the business as per defined SOP’s and timelines.

  • Responsible for preparing and executing hiring plan for associate category and ensuring deployment of right talent at right time.

  • Support employee relation agenda for the plant and ensure disruption free operations all throughout.

  • Responsible for developing and building strong employee connect mechanism/program thereby contributing to positive work culture in the plant.

  • Partner C&B team in salary benchmark survey for associate category and support partner HRM for its smooth roll out.

  • Develop structured sensing mechanism (shop floor & outside) and work towards building a constructive teaming with front line officers and acting together to build conducive shop floor environment.

  • Responsible for setting up overtime and absenteeism control system and its execution.

  • Ensure discipline amongst associates through effective discipline administration and ensure timely resolution of their grievances.

  • Ensure effective time office management as per company requirements and statutory rules.

  • Lead the employee engagement plan for Jhagadia site involving all key stake holders and contribute to making Abbott Manufacturing a “Preferred place to work”.

  • Responsible for compliance to the budget allotted for various activities.

  • Maintain effective liaison with all Government machineries viz. Factory Inspectorate, Labour Officer/ALC,Employment Exchange, Police etc.

  • Responsible for complete compliance of all statutory provision stipulated under various laws and ensure zero NC.(PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Mediclaim Insurance etc.)

  • Responsible for maintaining high productivity standards in the plant by contributing to productivity initiatives and by ensuring optimum deployment of manpower resources.

  • Responsible for periodical sharing of HR MIS to all stakeholders

  • Responsible for documentation and record keeping as per the Abbott standard and statutory Compliance

Education and background:

  • MSW/MLS/MLW/ master’s degree/ PG Diploma in Personnel Management/ Industrial Relations required as per local compliance requirements.

  • Good understanding of operation HR.

  • Knowledge of various HR processes and compliances

  • Should have 5 to 7 years of experience in manufacturing set-up in a medium to large size industry.

  • Sound knolwledge of labour laws and statutory compliances.

  • Ability to communicate well in local vernacular (gujarati) is preferred

  • Sound Interpersonal skills required for building healthy relationship with cross functional colleagues

  • Communication skills and ability to articulate well.

  • Problem solving and conflict management skill and ability to work under pressure situation
