Jesup Community School is seeking a highly motivated Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 School Year.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary School Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Strat I or II endorsement. A strong background in special education, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment are qualities we are looking for.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for students in your classroom.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and learning.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support as needed.
  • Write and update IEPs annually for each student.
  • Complete any and all Medicaid paperwork as needed.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff.
  • Supervise and participate in extracurricular activities and field trips as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
  • Stay current with developments in special education and incorporate innovative teaching techniques.
