Chewy Maintenance Area Manager in Jessup, Pennsylvania

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a Maintenance Area Manager at its Jessup, PA Fulfillment Center. In this role you will be a critical member of the Maintenance Leadership Team that is responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of general warehouse assets and production equipment such as conveyor systems, industrial automation systems, inventory storage solutions, and powered industrial trucks. In this role you will directly manage a team of technicians, partner closely with Chewy Operations and other stakeholder teams, and leverage third party vendors for specialized maintenance work.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage a team of maintenance technicians responsible for the reliability and performance of general warehouse assets and production equipment in an e-commerce fulfillment center.

  • Manage preventative and reactive equipment repairs.

  • Manage high severity downtime events.

  • Audit the quality of work and documentation of your team and provide feedback on areas to improve.

  • Lead continuous improvement projects that target key performance indicators such as injury rates, equipment uptime, mean time to repair, and system capacity.

  • Utilize data to measure and manage the performance of your team.

  • Partner with Chewy Operations and Support teams to achieve business goals.

  • Manage third party vendors performing work for Chewy.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience managing a maintenance or operations team in a warehouse or factory.

  • Experience working with material handling equipment such as conveyors and powered industrial trucks.

  • Experience using information systems and data to measure and improve key performance indicators.

  • Ability to simultaneously support multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with cross functional stakeholders.

  • Ability to work a schedule that includes weekends, nights, and holidays.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

Bonus:

  • Master's Degree.

  • Experience maintaining electromechanical material handling systems.

  • Experience maintaining industrial control systems.

  • Experience maintaining electrical systems.

  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
