Are you thinking about improving your career development and your professional growth? We invite you to join one of the most successful international logistics organizations here at Kuehne+Nagel. Our Jersey City branch is looking for a new National Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team.

Your Role

Our Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate processing of weekly payrolls via UKG Pro, along with applicable verbal and written stellar customer service.

Your Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for our non-exempt population via UKG Pro

  • Provide direction and support to HR teams and employees to resolve time reporting and pay issues

  • Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure appropriate data workflow

  • Assist manager in preparing data material for internal and external audit requests

  • Calculate and communicate salary changes and/or corrections effectively, resolving issues and updating payroll system as needed

  • Ensure accurate, timely, and adequate follow-up of payroll requests via email, ticketing system, telephone, and voicemails

  • Assist manager with preparation and facilitation of year-end activities between HRIS, HR, Benefits and Payroll to ensure continued operations when transitioning calendar years

  • Distribute and manage pay cards, as required

  • Participate in improvements, updates, and testing of payroll related systems

  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential

  • Support internal and external payroll audits throughout the calendar year

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of UltiPro / UKG Pro payroll processing and payroll concepts preferred

  • American Payroll Association Certification a plus

  • 5 years of full payroll cycle processing experience

  • Proficient in employment tax is preferred

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Federal, state and local regulations

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task

  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving skills, and root cause analysis capabilities

  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) skills

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
