Our Jersey City branch is looking for a new Controller for Contract Logistics to join our Finance team.

Your Role

As our Controller - Contract Logistics for the Americas, you will manage any controlling related tasks Contract Logistics operations within the Americas. Your activities involve reporting and forecasting, investment analysis, cost control, risk management, and working capital management.

Your Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic business partner for US/Americas Contract Logistics Leadership Team in all finance related tasks

  • Directly manage a team of 8 US Controllers

  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing and manage annual and quarterly forecast processes

  • Review investment applications and new business ventures, validate cost savings initiatives, and present business cases for approval

  • Represent Finance/Controlling in all new business opportunities/RFPs, ensuring accurate cost data and adherence to company accounting practices

  • Anticipate financial risks, conduct contract reviews, participate in customer pricing, and agree on mitigation strategies with senior management

  • Review P&Ls, perform gap analysis, develop cost control measures, and support major procurement projects

  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement among our Contract Logistics Controlling for the Americas, ensure compliance with Kuehne+Nagel financial guidelines, and oversee the development of Local Financial Analysts and Support staff

Your Skills and Experiences

  • At minimum Bachelor’s Degree in finance or equivalent, Master’s Degree preferred

  • 7-10+ years working experience of which at least 5 years in Finance and Controlling functions

  • 5+ years of working experience in leading/managing people

  • Experience in communicating at senior management level

  • Operational and business “know-how” in Contract Logistics required

  • Willingness to travel within the Americas Region

  • Should have very strong operational knowledge related to MS Office (Excel, Excess, Word, PowerPoint, Teams), and Tableau

This position is eligible for a bonus earning opportunity. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
