ASM Global Dishwasher in Jekyll Island, Georgia

Job Title: Dishwasher – part time

Department: Food & Beverage

Reports to: Executive Chef

Pay: $16 per hour

Jekyll Island Convention Center, an ASM Global managed facility, has an immediate opening for part-time Dishwasher. Days and hours of work vary based on need. Frequent evening and weekend work is required.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work unsupervised

  • Must have attention to detail

  • Must have good oral communication skills

  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events

  • Must be results driven, follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed

  • Must be compliant with health codes

  • Must be able to work flexible hours.

Major Responsibilities:The dish and general utility position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.

Essential Functions:

Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas.

Rewash soiled dishes before delivering.

Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.

Wash pots, pans and trays by hand.

Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.

Set up or break down dishwashing area.

Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.

Sweep/mop floors.

Assemble/disassemble dish machine.

Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.

Notify manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures. Other duties as directed.

Work Environment

This job operates in a kitchen environment. This role routinely uses sinks and dishwashers and tools to clean kitchen appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals and cleaning chemicals.

Physical Demands:

  • Daily lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. Up to 10 minutes at a time.

  • Constant reaching, standing, walking and stooping

  • Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination

  • Must be able to balance and have good manual dexterity

  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events

Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
