Performs detailed work for operational (funeral home, cemetery and personal care centers) audits, SOX compliance and special request projects. These projects can be audits or other types of engagements. The incumbent is responsible for developing audit work plans, developing audit findings, recommendations and reports. . This position may require up to 25% travel.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops queries for internal and external parties and projects

  • Identifies summarized and detailed trends in data

  • Prepares and distributes reports to management

  • Seeks to understand a stakeholder's business, systems, operating strategy and critical processes

  • Tests controls to ensure they are working as designed by reviewing documentation, meeting with management to discuss the business processes, and observing general business operations

  • Identifies issues and collaborate with management to determine cost-effective solutions for improving their control environment

  • Assist with the development of risk assessments

  • Identifies and analyzes the risks inherent in the stakeholder's business

  • Evaluates the controls that management has implemented to manage their risks

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, General Business or a related discipline or 5 years of relevant experience

Experience:

  • Four (4) years of auditing experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong risk assessment and analytical skills

  • Ability to work within a team environment

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Proficient with ACL, GRC tools, Access or Excel

  • Ability to clearly articulate complex ideas, and creative problem solving abilities

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Attention to detail and the ability to quickly access problems and identify workable solutions

  • Travel up to 25%
