Job Summary: The Kurt J. Lesker Company is seeking a highly experienced electrical engineer to assist with activities involving atomic scale processing techniques, including atomic layer deposition (ALD) and plasma-enhanced ALD (PEALD). Responsibilities include interfacing, in a leadership capacity, with both shared and dedicated resources from all areas of operations, as well as implementing and conducting projects involving ALD/PEALD product development.  This individual will design, develop, and test all aspects of electrical components, and may be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of these products.  The right candidate for this position must be self-motivated and will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Behavioral traits include good communication and interpersonal skills, self-direction, integrity, teamwork, leadership skills, strong time management skills, and attention to detail.

Key Job Elements:

  • Interface, in a leadership capacity, with shared and dedicated resources from all areas of operations (including engineering, material control, assembly, test and service) to ensure ALD/PEALD quality objectives are achieved;
  • Lead and delegate the work to others as needed
  • Drive product scalability within KJLC's corporate enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
  • Interface with technical sales, product management and applications to drive product development
  • Implement and conduct projects involving ALD/PEALD product development, including product improvement and new product development
  • Perform prototype assembly and testing of components and sub-modules
  • Create budgets and timelines relative to project tasks
  • Interface with manufacturing to determine cost effective fabrication techniques
  • Liaise with subcontractors and outside vendors to procure custom components
  • Must be comfortable wearing multiple hats spanning across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex ALD/PEALD equipment level issues
  • Provide detailed written reports of completed project work
  • Participate in industry related conferences, seminars and workshops
  • Occasional domestic and international travel will be required
  • Must ensure compliance with all workplace policies and procedures, including human resource policies and safety

Qualifications: Required

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of related experience; or a MS degree with 3 years of related experience; or 15 years equivalent Electrical Engineering experience
  • Minimum 5 Years experience in electrical design
  • Strong CAD experience
  • Expert level agency compliance knowledge within NEC, NFPA, UL and CE
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and lift up to, and including, 50 lbs unassisted.  Assistance must be used for any items over this weight.

Preferred

  • 2 or more years expe ience with AutoCAD or other 2D drafting package
  • 3 or more years of ALD/PEALD product development experience
  • 5 or more years of design experience with automated equipment
