Required Education:** High school diploma or GED.

Skills At least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics Knowledge of computer system analysis, design, testing, and debugging. Knowledge of system maintenance practices. Ability to work independently, with other IT personnel, with vendors, and with system users/staff. Ability to prepare technical reports in a clear and concise manner. Knowledge of various computer-programming languages.

The purpose of this position is to distribute, monitor, maintain, and collect student laptops. The position also installs, maintains, tests, and repairs systems and networks; utilizes basic technical knowledge to support IT initiatives and provides first-level technical information systems support to the University community; resolves routine technical problems; and trains students, faculty, and staff on common laptop applications and programs. This position may provide evening technical support to students and therefore, may need to work an adjusted schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs basic problem solving and assistance on various software applications and hardware systems for students and/or the University community. Provides technical instruction and/or training to users on new or updated technologies. Performs routine technical assistance and maintenance duties. Assists with tracking inventory levels of equipment and materials; performs data entry and maintenance of records such as, but not limited to, project documents, user instructions, general reports and/or system errors. Performs routine technological systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of systems; troubleshoots and resolves general system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists with the review, evaluation, and recommendation of solutions relating to hardware and software acquisitions and/or network updates. Assists with implementation of technology projects with moderate scope and impact. Assists with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, workstations, and/or related equipment and devices. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to technology, equipment, applicable laws, regulations, standards, and/or systems. Performs other job duties as assigned.
