Parsons Corporation Senior Quantity Surveyor - MEP in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee all quantity surveying activities related to the construction of the new Opera House.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Prepare cost estimates and evaluating tender documents.

  • Conduct feasibility studies focusing on MEP works.

  • Liaise with the team to ensure prompt submittal and completeness of BOQ and Estimates are accurate and ensure quality standard are maintained.

  • Advise the QS/Estimator's on measurement procedures and calculation of interim and final quantities.

  • Evaluate the unit rates for new work items and present to the estimating manager for review with supporting documents.

  • Analyze construction drawings and specifications to accurately estimate quantities of materials and labor required for each project phase.

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure adherence to budget constraints.

  • Manage subcontractor contracts, prepare progress reports, and handle variations and claims.

  • Reviewing of the submitted Invoices by the Contractor with attention to detail.

  • Play a crucial role in cost control and financial management throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Participate in all commercial/Estimation presentation and meetings with Client.

  • Any other task associated with the role.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field from a recognized university / institution.

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying in MEP and a minimum of 3 years experience in GCC (KSA experience ideally).

  • Proven track record of managing quantity surveying aspects for MEP engineering projects, including cost estimation, tendering, contract administration, and cost control.

  • Experience in both pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying duties.

  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools, such as CostX, Revit or similar.

  • Experience in preparing, negotiating, and administering contracts, including change orders and claims management.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is preferred.

  • Professional Membership of MRICS is preferable.
