Hillside Family of Agencies Supervisor Community Based in Jamestown, New York

Hillside has an immediate opening for a community-based supervisor for the One Family Program which serves families in both Allegany and Chautauqua Counties. The One Family program utilizes the Family Group Decision Making model to help families involved with the department of child welfare to develop plans for the long-term care and permanency of their children. The goal of this program is to empower families to have a voice and active role in the plans of care for their children. The community-based supervisor will oversee five direct care staff operating programs in the two counties. In addition to specific supervisory tasks, the community-based supervisor will also maintain a small caseload of families, as needed.

This will be a full-time position, 40 hours per week on a Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm schedule. This role will be based out of primarily either our Cuba, NY or Lakewood, NY offices and covering both regions.

Supervisor Job Summary

Supervisor Community Based is responsible for the delivery of quality of services to youth and the performance of the direct care staff in a community based program. The Supervisor - Community Based coaches, trains and supports direct care staff in order to meet the needs of clients. This person is responsible for the efficiency of the day to day operations of the program and the safety of youth, adults, families and staff.

Essential Job functions

  • Oversee day to day operations of the program.

  • Maintain relationships and the intake and referral process from the various counties.

  • Deliver comprehensive adult focused and or youth guided, trauma informed, family driven services within the communities they serve.

  • Conduct regular record checks to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.

  • The Supervisor – Community Based performs direct care staff functions as assigned and required.

  • Assume the responsibility of the Program Manager – Community Based in their absence.

  • Communicate, support and link Hillside mission, vision, values, goals, and strategies to everyday work and establishes clear, meaningful, challenging, and attainable objectives and expectations that are aligned with those of the organization

  • Align the right work with the right people; delegates tasks according to people’s strengths and interests. Ensures staff has the skills and resources to be successful. Provide staff with coaching, training and opportunities for growth to improve their skills. Treat staff fairly and consistently. Share accountability when delegating and involves staff in setting their performance goals.

  • Ensure Hillside policies, procedures and all applicable governmental laws/regulations/guidelines are followed. Make decisions and has authority to implement decisions in conjunction with the leadership structure of the given area of responsibility.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field and 2+ years working in Human Services related field.

Special Requirements:

  • Unrestricted, valid NYS driver’s license for minimum of 1 year with a clean driving record and minimum insurance coverage that meets agency standards.

  • Ability to edit the work of others to ensure documentation of medical necessity, link to service plan and family-driven, youth guided care

  • Must be able to work a variable scheduling including evenings and weekends

  • Occasional sitting (up to 4 hours)

  • Occasional standing (up to 1 hour)

  • Continuous balancing (up to 8 hours)

  • Occasional balancing, bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching forward or down, reaching overhead, running, and twisting (up to 2.5 hours)

  • Weekly lifting up to 10-15 lbs. on a daily basis

  • Manual dexterity is required, including the frequent ability to grasp in both hands and continuous use of fine manipulation skills in both hands (approximately 1-2.5 hrs.)

  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, gases or chemicals is apparent.

  • Ability to change positions as needed

    $22.01 Minimum Rate per hour, $33.01 Maximum Rate per hour, based on experience.
