Heritage Ministries is in growth mode and currently seeking a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) to join our team! The Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) is responsible for performing various activities related to nursing functions necessary to provide for the personal needs and comfort of the residents. CNA’s are also responsible for ensuring that the activities of daily living are delivered in a professional and caring manner. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs technical tasks, provides emotional support, and anticipates and meets the many needs of the resident. Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Nursing Department functions on the unit by following established policies and procedures and ensuring the standard of care is consistent with philosophies and objectives of the Nursing Department.

  • Serves meals, nourishments, and liquids to residents. Assists those residents who require help. Reports any changes in eating and drinking habits to Charge Nurse, documents changes appropriately.

  • Transports residents throughout the facility as needed and may on occasion accompany residents to off-site appointments and/or activities.

  • Takes temperature, pulse, respiration rates, and weighs residents as directed. Reports any abnormal value to Charge Nurse promptly.

  • Records intake and output as per policy and procedure.

  • Makes resident beds and handles soiled bed linens as per policy and procedure to avoid spread of infection.

  • Disinfects and sanitizes nursing equipment and work areas. Maintains a clean, safe work environment. Tidies resident rooms, closets, dressers etc.

  • Accurately and thoroughly completes required reports and other documentation in a timely manner.

    Qualifications:

  • Possess a current (not expired or lapsed) New York State Nursing Home Nurse Aide Certification and must be listed on New York State Nursing Home Nurse Aide Registry. The registry must confirm that the Nurse Aide’s certificate is nor expired or lapsed, and that there are no sustained findings or convictions listed on the registry.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
