Job Title: Production Associate - BRAKE OPERATOR Reports To: Jim Congdon / William Hodges FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Approved By: Human Resources Director Approved Date: 12/4/2014SUMMARY Operating a mechanical and/or hydraulic brake dealing with metal products, and supports others doing the same, by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. • Experience operating mechanical and/or hydraulic brakes • Operate a forklift, pallet jack and “walk behind”. • Knowledge on how to use calipers, protractors. • Blueprint reading. • Loads, stacks, and transports stock and work in process by hand or truck. • Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Performs other routine duties. • All other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associates must be able to successfully work independently and also as a team member. A good attendance history (reliability) and a demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and skills is a must. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
