OTG HR JFK Airport Intern in Jamaica, New York

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Summary:

The OTG Paid Summer Internship allows students to have an immersive, hands-on learning experience within OTG Management at our JFK Airport. The Intern will be assigned to one of the following parts of the business: JFK HR. The Intern will support the department by working on (but not limited to) special projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities and Project List:  

  • Learn and uphold the organization's values, philosophy, ethics, integrity, and code of conduct.

  • Assist with various projects and research, as requested by the department.

  • Learn the ROB (rhythm of business.)

  • Special Projects might include:

    • Basic HR functions –scanning documents, phone calls, text messages, and emails.
  • Assist with orientation – assist with monthly employee engagement activity.

  • Assist with badging - help at job fairs.

  • Learn key functions and update/provide input based on Ceridian Dayforce, our HR (Human Resources) system.

  • Provide administrative support to the assigned department, as needed.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Enrolled in an Associate or bachelor's Program in an accredited College or University, pursuing a degree.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • High levels of initiative, willingness to learn, and ability to take constructive feedback.

  • Successful in both an independent and team-oriented work environment.

  • Strong work ethic and integrity, with high energy and a positive attitude.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hospitality and customer experience oriented.

  • Previous experience /knowledge working in a position with high confidentiality.

  • Experience working within a cross-functional team.

    Pay rate: $20 per hour
